TIM BURTON'S CREATURES AND POETRY

This week in a class I have read some poems from the book The melancholy of Oyster Boy. Tim Burton's creatures are weird, funny and unique. Some of them are Staring girl, The girl with many eyes, Match boy, Stain boy, Toxic boy, Robot boy, Melonhead, Mummy boy, Brie boy, The boy with nails in his eyes, Oyster boy or Junk girl. I bought a copy of this book as an adult, so don't think these stories are for children because they are not. Some of them are touching and sad, others are funny and peculiar. Each of the characters is an outsider, many come from broken families, mostly parents who are not accepting their children who are different. Who is your favourite? You can read some of them in the link below.

A REAL DRAGON

Mythological and fantastic creatures is something that fascinates me. Do dragons exist? Can you think about a real animal that looks like a dragon? Listen to Wild Frank talking about this peculiar lizard.

What skill does it have?

What parts of its body does the video mention?

What adjectives are used to describe it?

What is its name?

What does it have in common with a dragon?

What does it use its yellow flag for?

What does it eat?
