This week we are learning about adverbs. However, remember not to overuse them.

Halloween is just around the corner so the time for CREATING OUR CREATURE has come. Every year I give you some sources of inspiration. My first for this year is Chris Riddell, a political cartoonist for The Observer and author of the recent book Timorous Beasts. You can check lots of his stuff online. He has a wonderful facebook where he uploads videos showing how he draws.
ROBERT BURNS is the national Scottish poet. He was born in the 18th century and 'Auld Lang Syne' is one of his most famous poems, in Scots-language . It is a
traditional folk song and well known in many English-speaking countries.
Traditionally, the song is sung at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s
Eve to say goodbye to the old year. Moreover, people also sing this song
at funerals, graduations, and farewell to other occasions. In this poem,
the poet upholds the value of FRIENDSHIP and BROTHERHOOD. The song is
not about forgetting the past and welcoming the new. It’s about
valuing the old acquaintances and the memories associated with them. This song makes me feel a bit nostalgic as I have heard my dad singing this song at some dinners with family, but now I can't see my family as much as I want to because of the covid precautions. I suppose in Tirso de Molina many people feel the same. 😞 Here is a scene from the series The Crown with the poem/song
In a few weeks, Scottish postman Nathan Evans has quit his job and signed with a music company to release an albumn. His interpretation of a centuries-old sailor song, known as SEA SHANTIES, has gone viral

In every black dog-hair, he carried autumn: leaves caught in his dark ears, dropping from his white chest, and off his tail. Dog smelled just like autumn!Martin sat up in bed and reached down with one small hand. Dog barked and showed a long length of pink, wet tongue, which he passed over and along the back of Martin's hand. Dog licked him like a lollypop. 'Because of the salt on my skin,' declared Martin, as Dog jumped upon the bed. 'Get down,' warned Martin. 'Mom doesn't like you up here.' Dog dropped his ears. 'Well. . .' Martin softened, 'just for a little while, then.' Dog warmed Martin's smallbody with his dog warmness. Martin loved the clean smell of dog and the pile of colourful leaves on the blanket. He didn't really care if Mom was angry! 'What is it like outside today, Dog? Tell me.'...
